Transition Summer Project
What is the Transition Summer Project?
A focused summer programme that bridges the move from primary to secondary. Pupils receive four personalised 1:1 sessions (in primary, at the new secondary, and in the community) plus two educational/social trips.
We involve families and teachers to align routines and support. The project builds confidence and friendships, reduces anxiety about starting Year 7, and helps pupils settle into new expectations.
Crucially, it also spotlights any emerging mental health or safeguarding concerns early, enabling timely referrals to support services. In many cases, we’re the first professionals a young person engages with during the holidays.
Summer Project Story
"The highlight of my summer was feeling proud of myself for going on the trips and using my voice to ask new adults for help and make friends. I feel much more confident for secondary school and how to approach adults if I need to.”
“This project has helped my daughter mix with other children. She is still shy and anxious, but the experience has helped build her confidence.“
