make me smile
What is Make Me Smile?
A peer-to-peer, preventative mental-health session for Year 6 pupils.
Make Me Smile is a safe space where children are encouraged to explore wellbeing, learn strategies for worries, and reduce stigma about mental health through storytelling, discussion and creative activities.
“I learned how to calm down, what makes me happy and how mental health can change.”
“Now I know who to talk to, and that I don’t have to keep it to myself.”
After the core session, Year 6 pupils lead follow-up sessions with Year 3 pupils. In addition, some pupils become Mental Health Awareness Ambassadors, sustaining a culture of openness and embedding their learning across the school community.
