I’m A Young Person
One-Eighty was created for young people aged 4–17 who are finding things tricky at school or at home.
When we work with young people on a one-to-one basis, it can look like this:
- You might see us twice a week
- We’ll usually see your parents or the person who looks after you once a week, too
- We’ll often come to your home, but we can also meet you or do activities in other places where you feel comfortable. It’s about what works best for you
- When we meet, we’ll do activites, talk through the things you’re struggling with, and have some fun too
We know things can be difficult at times, and if you’re struggling, you’re not alone. One-Eighty is here to help you make things better.
Here are some stories about other young people we’ve worked with.
You might relate to some of these, but it’s also important to know that everyone is different. We support lots of young people, and no two stories are ever the same. Your experiences, feelings and goals are your own.
Our Testimonials
Mental Health
You might hear the words mental health in different places – on our website, at school, in the news, on TV, or from teachers, friends or family. Mental health is a bit like physical health. Everyone has it, just like we have physical health. It is not “good” or “bad”, it just changes, like how we feel in our bodies does.
We all need help from time to time with our mental health, and sometimes it can be helpful to talk about things that:
Especially if those feelings are stopping you from doing things. Or they are making it difficult to enjoy school or be happy at home. Talking about your feelings doesn’t mean there is anything “wrong” with you — it just means you’re human. Whatever is going on for you, you don’t have to deal with it on your own.
